A pure Syrah from the granitic soils around Lesquerde, the 2018 De Battre Mon Coeur S'Est Arrêté is loaded with scents of violets and ripe cherries and blueberries, even hints of stone fruit. A fresh, fruity cuvée evidently meant for immediate pleasure but with the ability to hold for a number of years, it's medium-bodied, silky and generous, with echoes of crushed stone on the lingering finish.
